Four years after production was shut down in India, filming resumed in Sri Lanka. The movie was shot under the fake title "Full Moon" to avoid attention.
I watched this film recently, when it was screened at Savoy. Reminded me of my Knigt in his white shinning armour:). But if you want to experience the true creativity in Sinhala films you should watch 'bithusithuwam'. Though it doesn't have the presence of tall Indian actor John Abraham; this film tells of a villager who goes to the city to make a living, who gets carried away there and becomes a playboy, while his girl friend back at home marries someone else after recovering from the serious heart break and he comes back a beggar to her house and relates his story to her now full grown daughter over a glass of clean water. A bit like the prodigal son found in the Christian Bible. The interesting bit is where his girl friend back in the City agrees to sleep with the master to make a living for them after he develops a limp from an accident. Very interesting stuff, way better than the traditional bithusithuwam found in the historical rock of sigiriya :)...
